Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
The Steady Post ("we", "us") helps you plan, write and publish LinkedIn posts. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices you have. It is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. By using The Steady Post you consent to the processing described here, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by deleting your account.
1. What we collect
From LinkedIn when you sign in
- Your name, email address, profile picture and LinkedIn member ID.
- An access token that lets us publish posts to your LinkedIn profile. We store it encrypted and use it only to publish posts you have confirmed. It expires after about 60 days, when we ask you to reconnect.
What you give us
- Your resume or CV, past LinkedIn posts you paste, and topics you type.
- A LinkedIn data export, if you upload one. We read only your posts, positions, skills, headline and summary, never messages or connections, and we delete the ZIP file as soon as it has been read.
- LinkedIn analytics exports, post links and post results you add.
- Profile text you paste for a profile audit, and posts you paste to remix or comment on.
- Your settings, such as weekly goal, time zone and email preferences.
When you buy Pro
- Dodo Payments collects your payment details and billing address at checkout. We never see or store your card or UPI details; we keep only your Dodo customer ID, your plan and its status.
What we create for you
- What we learn about you (field, topics, writing voice, career stage), your Authority Map, post ideas, drafts, carousels and infographics, scheduled and published posts, and your weekly streaks.
How you use the site
- Usage data collected by Microsoft Clarity: pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, device and browser type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Text you type and content on signed-in pages is masked from these recordings.
2. How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To learn your field and voice, suggest ideas, and write drafts and visuals in your voice.
- To show what is trending in your field. Trends come from public news sources and contain none of your data.
- To publish and schedule posts on LinkedIn, but only after you confirm each one.
- To track your weekly goal, streaks and post results, and to learn when your posts do best.
- To send emails you can control, such as reminders and reconnect warnings.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. AI processing
To generate ideas, drafts and profile insights, we send the relevant parts of your data (for example your profile, resume, past posts and the topic you chose) to an AI provider. We currently use Google's Gemini API, and we may use Anthropic's Claude API instead. While we use Gemini's free tier, Google may use the content we send to improve its products, and its staff may review it. Please do not upload anything you would not want processed this way. We will update this policy when that changes.
4. Who processes your data
We use these service providers, who process data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase: database, file storage and sign-in. Data is stored in Mumbai, India.
- Vercel: hosting of the website.
- Google (Gemini API) and, if used, Anthropic (Claude API): AI generation.
- Resend: sending emails.
- Dodo Payments: checkout, subscriptions, taxes and invoices, as merchant of record.
- Microsoft Clarity: usage analytics.
- LinkedIn: sign-in, and publishing the posts you confirm.
Some of these providers process data outside India, including in the United States. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. Microsoft Clarity sets analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser; if you block essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in.
6. How long we keep it
- Your data is kept for as long as you have an account.
- When you delete your account in Settings, we cancel your scheduled posts and delete your account, uploaded files, profile, ideas, drafts and results. Posts already published on LinkedIn stay on LinkedIn; delete them there.
- Internal records of background tasks are deleted within 30 days.
- Dodo Payments keeps payment and invoice records as tax and accounting laws require, even after you delete your account.
7. Security
Data is sent over HTTPS, your LinkedIn access token is encrypted at rest, and each user can read only their own data. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
8. Your rights
Under Indian law you can:
- see the data we hold about you (Settings → What The Steady Post learned shows what we infer);
- correct or update it;
- erase it, by deleting your account in Settings or by writing to us;
- withdraw consent, which you do by deleting your account;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become unable to;
- raise a grievance with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India if it is not resolved.
Write to amog.shetty2027@mastersunion.org for any of these. We aim to respond within 30 days. You can pause our emails in Settings or with the unsubscribe link in any email.
9. Age
The Steady Post is only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above, and we will tell you by email or in the app before any significant change takes effect.
11. Contact
Questions, requests or complaints about your data, including as our grievance contact: amog.shetty2027@mastersunion.org. See also our Terms of Service.
